Lagos Yell Co-operative College (LASCOCO) has said that five Nigerians that performed serious roles within the establishment of the first cooperative college within the nation that is backed by law would be honoured at its maiden convocation.


   


The college’s Provost, Mr. Akorede Ojomu, in a assertion, said that the honourary award of fellowship would be bestowed on the five folks who were instrumental to the improvement of the college, as the establishment graduates 104 professional diploma college students.

He listed those to be awarded to encompass a accepted Commissioner for Agriculture and Cooperatives and the Oniru of Iruland, Oba Gbolahan Lawal; accepted Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye; retired permanent secretaries, Mr. Wale Raji; Dr Yaqub Bashorun and Mr. Lekan Akodu.

 


He said the maiden convocation lecture titled “Distress for the 21st Century financial system: what roles enact cooperatives settle on to play within the transition to a sustainable financial system?” would be delivered by the Chief Executive Officer and Critical of the UK Cooperative College, Mr. Neil Calvert.
