Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi has called on the Nationwide Assembly to expedite the passage of the Hunters Bill 2020 to wait on executive efforts in tackling insecurity.
Mr Bello made the appeal on Saturday in Abuja when he acquired commendation from the Hunters Council of Nigeria for his methodology to combating insecurity and crimes in Kogi.
The Hunters Council of Nigeria is pushing for the passage of its Hunters Bill (2020) to present it extra powers as a regulations enforcement agency to wait on in combating crimes.
The proposed Bill, which is sponsored by Adiodun Olujimi, has handed first and 2nd readings at both Chambers of the nationwide assembly.
Mr Bello illustrious that the Bill, when handed into regulations, would give the Hunters Council a staunch enamel to battle crime, alongside other security companies.
The governor illustrious that the usage of the hunters to fight crimes in Kogi is one amongst the secrets and ways to the utter’s successes in tackling crimes and insecurity.
