The Committee on Detention heart Reforms and Decongestion has freed Rahma Hussein, a young lady accused of killing her husband to stutter her compelled marriage.
Ms Hussein allegedly committed the said offence in 2014. She stabbed her newlywed husband, Tijjani Basiru, to dying at Darmanawa quarters, in Tarauni native govt field of Kano.
She became 16 when she committed the offence. She became charged for culpable kill and pleaded no longer responsible.

In 2018, Justice R. A. Sadik ordered her “detained at the pleasure of the governor of the express” as a result of she became forcefully married and committed the offence at the age of 16.
The prison reform committee, led by Justice Ishaq Bello, also facilitated the free up of 30 other inmates from diversified custodial centres within the express.
The spokesperson, Kano correctional centre, Musbahu Kofar-Nasarawa, in a statement on Saturday, said Ms Hussein’s free up on Friday became “in accordance with the suggestion from the officers of the correctional centre who attested to her sound character.”
